Success stories

See the shopping journey people actually take.

Every OmniROI study is built on what real shoppers actually did. The journey study below shows how a brand team replaced platform-by-platform reporting with one complete body of evidence.

This story is based on a delivered study. To protect our customer and the participants, no customer name appears here, and all figures are anonymised, aggregated and expressed as ranges or orders of magnitude.

Maternal and baby multi-platform buying journey

An international maternal and baby brand was advertising and trading on several major e-commerce platforms at once. Each platform offered its own dashboard, but none of them showed the full path. Under the AURA™ audit standard, OmniROI followed the complete shopping journey of real shoppers and answered three questions the brand could not answer before.

Three questions the brand team needed answered

  1. 1 Before people order, how do they compare platforms, what do they look at, and where do they hesitate?
  2. 2 On-platform promotion is not cheap. Which placements were genuinely seen by shoppers?
  3. 3 Do the purchase reasons people give in a questionnaire match what they actually did?

What the study found

Four findings, each traceable back to what shoppers actually saw and did.

01

The full path to checkout became visible for the first time

From arriving on a platform to placing an order, the deepest eight-step path was mapped step by step. One previously invisible fact stood out: between 7% and 15% of orders happened after shoppers jumped directly between different brand stores to compare. A flagship store is not an island, and how the comparison moment is handled decides the last step.

02

Real reach concentrates in a handful of core placements

More than 130 on-platform placements were checked one by one, with detected and not-detected reported honestly. Reach concentrated on around a dozen core placements and their combinations, and a few core combinations already covered a large share of buyers. Many long-tail placements were barely seen by this group of real buyers at all.

03

Order receipts made average order value defensible

Over 600 order receipts and the behaviour data came from the same participants, so the two could be reconciled. About seventy percent of orders were mixed-category baskets, and the whole-basket value was roughly three times the category value. Where a breakdown had too few observations, the report says so instead of filling in an estimate.

04

One reviewable journey index made the path comparable

The AURA™ journey index (OJI) combines four dimensions out of 100: how people arrive, how the brand competes at the comparison step, how efficient the path is, and the quality of the purchase. Every result opens onto the underlying evidence, is measured on one consistent basis, and is continuously checked against the same shoppers’ real orders.

AURA™ is OmniROI’s own audit standard and intellectual property. It is an audit standard, not a regulatory certification.

What the brand team could decide with

Overall journey assessment

Four dimensions each located a strength or a gap, making it clear which step to fix next and which placement deserves the resource.

Platform budget allocation

The role each platform plays in the journey finally had behavioural evidence, turning the budget conversation from competing dashboards into one shared shopper journey.

Focused on-platform operations

A shortlist of core placements, plus a clear direction for handling the moment when shoppers compare brands.

Cleaner measurement definitions

Whole-basket and category value are managed separately, and questionnaire conclusions are calibrated against observed behaviour.
